50 Plus Facial Sunblock

50+ sunblock

Here we have a couple of packaging ideas I put together for a facial sunblock simply named 50+ or fifty plus. Aside from wrapping yourself in a blanket probably the most protection from UV rays you can find. This isn’t for little Johnny and Susie when you take them to the pool on Wednesday afternoons. It’s for you… the grown-ups. Of course it is strong enough to repel the evil rays that cause melanoma on your little ones, but let’s face it at 150 bucks a tube why waste it on those little ingrates? You have to keep yourself looking good.

50+ is packed with collagen and glycosaminoglycan (and 48 other words I can’t pronounce or spell). If you want to keep your freshly Botoxed skin looking like a rubber glove stretched over a garden rake then 50+ is what you are looking for.

Try it today and you will become hooked on it’s age defying mystic powers.

Having fun with flash

conan | September 15, 2008

So I was cleaning out some old files on my server space and I came across a fun little flash invitation I did for some friends of mine back last November. They came up with a pretty ingenious variation on a color party. Each group of friends was required to wear a specific color according to which one of the hosts was their friend.

Click to view in another window. (there will be sound, so if you are in your office you might want to mute your sound first)

Surprisingly they received a few more people than they were expecting. Their neighbors turned out to be a little unhappy.

(And ladies don’t worry I changed your address… don’t want any uninvited goof-balls dropping by your house)

Kiss a Copywriter Today

conan | September 11, 2008

I love how one line can hook someone into a commercial.
This M6 mobile spot did just that for me.
I’ll let you watch it then I’ll explain what got me.

M6 mobile “Maillots” Spot

If anyone could help me add copywriter, director, art director etc. I would be greatfull.

This is one of a series of ads for M6 mobile. The rest of the series is pretty strong, but I isolated this one cause it was the one that really grabbed my attention.

Starts out with an introduction of the “fighters”. One wearing a one piece (piéce) bathing suit against another wearing a two piece (piéce) bathing suit. Then slid in there right after… the commentator adds a little something.

To completely understand this spot you will need to understand a few things… One the French language. Two Parisian neighborhoods. I’ll do my best to explain. What the commentator says is something like, “Moi, J’habite un trois piéce porte maillot, mais c’est rien a voir.” translation… “Me, I live in a 3 room apartment near Porte Maillot, but it’s nothing to see.” Now that you have the translation you can make your own connections

There are other little bits of copy that help propel this spot, but I have to admit it was that one line that made me even pay attention to the rest of the message.

The main point is don’t take your copywriter for granted. They can make or break your message.
